On Tuesday, September 13, the “AVS-art” gallery in Kyiv presented the exhibition “HARBARBOND. Sign of Mariupol”. Mariupol artists Volodymyr Kharakoz, Serhii Barannik and Oleksandr Bondarenko started the project “Culture and art unite the country” a few years ago, before the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, which was prompted by the events in Mariupol in 2014-2015 yr.

While holding art events in Odesa, Lutsk, Mykolaiv, Poltava, Izmail and Mariupol, the artists noted: “The general lack of culture and humanity in the local population created a hole, chaos in their consciousness, which led to the invasion of Russian subversive groups on our territory. Our project” “Culture and art unite the country” is an opposition to “Russian peace”, it is a reaction to senseless anti-human aggression by Russia, it is a gesture of contempt for the Russian consciousness”.

One can only imagine how much the artists ached for their city, culture, country… Now the war scattered them all over Ukraine: Volodymyr Kharakoz — in Sumy Oblast, Serhii Barannik — in Transcarpathia, Oleksandr Bondarenko — in Dnipro. “ABS-art” gallery once again gathered “HarBarBond” in the heart of Ukraine – Kyiv. That their art sounded as powerful and bright as possible. So that their exhibition unites the entire country, confirming the invisible, but palpable at the level of the heart, living communication links on our territory from the north to the south, from the west to the east, with the author's symbols and signs.
