The Ukrainian Institute together with USAID launched an international campaign ” Postcards from Ukraine”, which will show the world the destroyed sights of our country. The purpose of the campaign is to talk about the damage to Ukrainian culture caused by the bombing and shelling by the Russian occupiers during the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

As part of the project, more than 100 leaflets about cultural heritage objects from different parts of our country will be issued. The postcards will be issued in Ukrainian and English, each will tell the story of a specific attraction.
You can get acquainted with the postcards on the website of the project, which will be constantly updated. Information can be searched by filters: region, date when the monument was built or destroyed, type of object and its status, as well as by the type of weapon that hit it.
“Russia's malicious, targeted destruction of Ukrainian cultural monuments is a huge loss for Ukraine, Europe and the whole world. Trying to erase the culture and history of Ukraine, the Kremlin seeks to erase the very concept of the Ukrainian nation. The goal of the “Postcards from Ukraine” project is to show the world the true face of the unprovoked and unjustified war that Russia has unleashed against Ukraine, the Ukrainian people and Ukrainian culture,” said James Hope, director of the USAID Mission in Ukraine.
Russia is not just destroying Ukrainian cities and villages, it is systematically destroying Ukrainian cultural heritage. This is evidence of a war whose purpose is to wipe out the Ukrainian people from their roots to the present day. The initiators of the project call on active citizens to tell the world about the destruction of Ukrainian culture by distributing postcards on social networks with the hashtag #PostcardsFromUkraine.
