In Tuscany, archaeologists have found artifacts of great value

These findings may “rewrite history”.

More than 20 bronze statues of the Etruscan and Roman periods, perfectly preserved, archaeologists found in the dirt of hot springs in Tuscany, reports BILD.

The artifacts were discovered in the small resort town of San Casciano dei Bagni. The statues depict the deities worshiped in the shrine built near the thermal spring. Experts estimate their age at more than two thousand years.

In addition to statues, during excavations, archaeologists found about five thousand gold, silver and bronze coins. They were probably gifts to the gods.

The head of the archaeological expedition, Jacopo Tabolli, said that these finds “will rewrite history”: according to him, they give new insight into the ancient Etruscan civilization, which was later absorbed by Roman culture.

The statues were perfectly preserved in the warm water of a thermal spring, the Etruscan and Latin inscriptions on them are all legible.

As previously reported, a British expedition discovered a large temple 50 kilometers from Rome, the existence of which was not known. The walls of the structure were detected using ground-penetrating radar in the area of ​​the modern village of Faleria Novi near the town of Civita-Castellana.
