Finland won the home hockey world championship

The Czech Republic won bronze medals.

The decisive matches of the World Hockey Championship took place on May 29 , which took place in the Finnish cities of Tampere and Helsinki.

In the finals of the tournament met the national teams of Finland and Canada. The hosts managed to win in overtime with a score of 4: 3.

After the first two periods, the Canadians led 1-0, but Suomi managed to reverse the course of the match and scored three goals in the third period. At the end of regular time, the Canadians managed to equalize – 3: 3.

Finland took revenge in Canada for last year's defeat finals with a score of 2: 3 in overtime. For the Finnish national team, this is the fourth World Cup gold in history after victories in 1995, 2011 and 2019.

In the bronze medal match, the Czech national team defeated the United States 8: 4.

It should be noted that that Russia and Belarus were suspended from the tournament after the Russian military invasion of Ukraine.
