Ukrainians continue to defend the destroyed city at the cost of their lives.
On March 23, a member of the Ukrainian UFMMA mixed martial arts team Yegor Birkun died defending Mariupol.
Birkun was to represent Ukraine at the GMA MMA World Championship, which started on March 23. However, after the Russian invasion, the athlete went to the Azov Regiment to defend the country from the occupiers.
