Attacks by Ukrainian hackers have led to the closure of breweries in Russia

Previously, alcohol distributors could not ship their products.

Large breweries in Russia have begun to suspend production due to failure of the Unified State Automated Information System for Alcohol Accounting (EDAIS) , according to the Russian newspaper “Kommersant”. The failure of the system is due to a large-scale DDoS attack, for which Ukrainian hackers have claimed responsibility.

Thus, on May 5, the Moscow Brewing Company, which operates a plant in Mytishchi with a capacity of 80 million decaliters per year, stopped production. It produces beer “Zhiguli Barnoe”, “Khamovniki”, “Trigirne”, Bavaria, Faxe and more. Sources in the publication claim that other large breweries could have suspended their activities.

Participants in the alcohol market noticed a failure in the work of EDAIS on May 3. At the same time, on May 4, the system operator announced the cessation of attacks.

As a result of this attack, residents of the aggressor country were without alcohol for the May holidays. This is due to the fact that producers and distributors of alcohol have not been able to ship their products.

EDAIS is the basis for accounting for the production and turnover of alcohol in Russia. It is used by all market participants who operate legally.

Recall From April 25 to May 1, the Ukrainian IT army attacked more than 190 Russian resources. Among them, in particular, the electronic reporting system.
