A series of documentaries about the war will premiere before Independence Day

The tapes will be shown on various media starting from August 22.

The era of the series of war documentaries “And then came the “brothers””, which were filmed by the Union of Ukrainian Producers (UUP) during the full-scale invasion of Russia. The tapes will be broadcast on various platforms starting from August 22.

As part of the cycle, you will be able to watch four films: “Mariupol. Unlost Hope”, “Nine Lives”, “Station of Hope” and “Lost Home”. The purpose of the campaign is to show the war in the most comprehensive way, as only cinematography can: with deeper narratives, longer timelines, stronger audience immersion.

“We are celebrating independence at a time when a full-scale war by a nuclear country has been launched against our independence, against us. A country that has been waging this war with us for hundreds of years. Now in this war we are all together with the Armed Forces. Our contribution is our films about Ukrainians, who will definitely win with their strength, will and love,” comments Alla Lypovetska, co-founder of OUP.

“Mariupol. Unlost Hope” will show the Russian-Ukrainian war through the eyes of ordinary people who lived through the first month of the invasion in Mariupol. This is a film-testimony, a film-the truth of ordinary citizens who found themselves inside the war.

Nine Lives will explore the theme of pets in war. The film will show a variety of angles, from the evacuation of the zoo from the war zone to Cotopapa – the rescuer of cats.

“Hope Railway Station” (Berlin. HopeBahnhof) will tell the stories of Ukrainian refugees and European volunteers: it is a film about the depths of humanism that they a person discovers in himself, sometimes unexpectedly even for himself.

“Lost House” was filmed in the spring of 2022, immediately after the liberation of Kyiv region from Russian troops. It will feature the emotions of Ukrainians who lost their homes as a result of the occupation.

After the action, all films will be shown on TV as part of the national telethon “Yedini Novyni” and abroad. Negotiations are currently underway with international distributors.
