Jail terms for homosexuals, stoning and whipping are still practiced today. It's a strange choice of place to host the World Cup, but FIFA decided not to give up on such a step.

Who will show the matches in Ukraine
The matches of the tournament will be shown on local TV channels “Public Broadcasting”, “Radio Promin” (audio), on the “Public Sport” website, as well as on the “Public Sport” YouTube channel. In addition, the matches will be broadcast by subscription on the MEGOGO media service.
Suspilne will broadcast 46 of the 64 World Cup games live, while MEGOGO will broadcast all matches. “Public” will publish notes and reviews of the games, which will be shown exclusively by MEGOGO.
In the group stage, there will be four meetings per day every day. The earliest ones start at 12:00 p.m., and the later ones at 9:00 p.m. Kyiv time.
