Ukrainians are far behind the United States.
The national team of Ukraine leads the medal on the sixth day of the competition The Deaflympics in Cacias do Sul, Brazil.
Ukrainians won two gold, silver and bronze medals.
Ukrainians won gold in the sprint mixed relay in orienteering. The team consists of Yana Melnyk, Dmytro Levin, Dmytro Plakhotnyk and Anna Androsovych. Oleksiy Kolomiets also won the breaststroke in the 200-meter breaststroke.
Swimmers Vladyslav Hrytsenko won silver and Valeria Verniba, Iryna Tereshchenko, Anita Makhnyk and Daria Tarasenko won the women's relay in the complex swimming.
Bronze medals for Oleksandr Kostyk and Violeta Lykova in the 10-meter air rifle mixed doubles. Anita Makhnyk also won third place in the 400-meter breaststroke.
Ukraine continues to lead the medal standings by a wide margin:
1. Ukraine – 31-15-18 (64 medals)
2. USA – 12-3-14 (29)
3. Japan – 9-6-6 (21).
It should be noted that the Deaflympics is a competition among people with hearing impairments. Ukraine is represented in Brazil by 170 athletes in 16 sports.
