UEFA launched disciplinary investigation after Fenerbahce fans chanted Putin's name

The management of European football will assess the situation and issue a verdict.

The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) opened a disciplinary investigation into the actions of Fenerbahce fans at the Champions League qualifying match against Kyiv Dynamo.

This was reported by the press service of the organization.

During the match part of the fans at the stadium in Istanbul chanted the name and surname of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The UEFA ethics and discipline inspector will investigate the behavior of the fans of the Turkish club. The verdict of the organization will be known later. The club may be punished with a fine or other sanctions.

Recall that “Dynamo” won away from home with a score of 2:1 and advanced to the third qualifying round of the Champions League, where they will play against the Austrian “Sturm” on August 3 and 9 .

Earlier it was reported that Lucescu did not come to the press conference after the match with “Fenerbahçe” due to the behavior of the Turkish fans.
