Google has stopped the project to connect Russian Mir cards to the Google Pay e-wallet. This was reported by the Russian media.
“At the initiative of Google, a pilot project to launch the Google Pay service for Mir cards has been stopped,” the National Payment Card System of the Russian Federation said.
Recall that from March 11, Apple Pay and Google Pay services became partially unavailable due to restrictions on Mastercard and Visa. Their cards work only inside Russia until the end of their validity.
Earlier it became known that Apple Pay can no longer add new “World” cards, as well as pay for previously added cards. And mobile applications of sanctioned banks of the Russian Federation have disappeared from the App Store and Play Market.
