The WBC has excluded Russian and Belarusian boxers from the organization's rankings

Athletes from these countries will not hold their matches.

President of the WBC Mauricio Suleiman announced the exclusion of Russian and Belarusian athletes from the organization's ratings.

“All boxers from Russia and Belarus have been removed from the WBC ratings. The organization will not sanction fights in these two countries. None of their citizens will be able to fight for the title champion of the WBC.

I want to express my deep regret for our athletes, promoters, representatives of the boxing industry from Russia and Belarus, who will suffer from such consequences of actions outside the ring,” said Suleiman.

Remind , on February 24, Russian President Putin made an urgent statement about conducting a special military operation on the territory of Ukraine, launching a large-scale invasion of Ukrainian cities.

After that, Russian sports began to plunge into complete isolation. There are practically no federations left that would not exclude Russians from their competitions.

Professional boxing is one of the few sports where Russians can compete.
