The United States has increased funding for developers of VPN services to help Russians circumvent censorship

Investments in nthLink, Psiphon and Lantern increased by almost 50%.

American World Media Agency (USAGM) from the beginning full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine has significantly increased funding for three technology companies involved in the development of VPN services, according to Reuters.

According to them, investment in nthLink, Psiphon and Lantern has increased almost 50%. The move is aimed at helping Russians circumvent Roskomnadzor's blockade.

The United States is pouring money into the company to coped with growing demand in Russia. Representatives of VPN services confirmed that since the end of February there has been a significant increase in the number of users from Russia. Deliveries of laptops, phones and other technology from China to Russia fell almost twice in March. Compared to the end of winter, exports fell by 40%.
