Ukrainian canoeist Lyudmila Luzan became the champion of the rowing world championship at the distance of 1,000 meters, which is held in Canada.
The Ukrainian covered the distance in 4.47.90 minutes and became the fastest in the final. Chile's Maria Mailliard was second, and Annika Loske from Germany was third.
This gold award was the debut for a Ukrainian woman at the level of world championships in singles competitions.
It should be noted that earlier on the same tournament, Luzan won silver in a pair with Anastasia Chetverikova in canoe doubles at a distance of 500 m, and the bronze medal was brought to Ukraine by the men's kayak foursome consisting of Oleg Kukharik, Dmytro Danylenko, Igor Trunov and Ivan Semykin.
We remind you that that Lyudmila Luzan is a two-time medalist of the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo (silver and bronze).
