Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz won the men's final singles of the US Open Championship.
In the final match, Alcaraz met the Norwegian Casper Ruud and won in four sets with the score 6:4, 2:6, 7:6 (1 ), 6:3.

19-year-old Alcaraz won the Grand Slam tournament for the first time in his career . For this victory, the Spaniard will receive 2.6 million dollars in prize money.
Alcaraz also received 2,000 rating points, thanks to which he will rise from the fourth line to the first place in the updated version of the ATP rating. The Spaniard will deprive the Russian Danylo Medvedev of the status of the first racket of the world. Ruud will become the second ATP number, and the top 3 will be closed by the Spaniard Rafael Nadal.
The new US Open champion became the youngest number one in the world ranking in the history of men's tennis. He broke the record of Lleyton Hewitt, who became the number one at the age of 20.
