“Match TV” could not stand the solidarity of the German championship with the Ukrainian people.
Russian TV channel “Football 3”, which is part of “Match TV”, interrupted the broadcast of the German championship match between Borussia Dortmund and Leipzig (1: 4), reports Tribuna.com.
Already in the 13th minute, commentator Igor Kytmanov announced that the broadcast had stopped:
“Unfortunately, we have to interrupt, interrupt our broadcast for reasons beyond our control. It is generally accepted that football is out of politics, but the Bundesliga does not always follow this rule.”
During the broadcast, billboards were seen on the air near the field with the words “Stop war” and “Stand with Ukraine” in support of Ukraine, which opposes Russia's military invasion.
