Legendary football player of Kyiv “Dynamo” Igor Belanov joined the ranks of defenders of Ukraine in the war with the Russian occupiers.
The famous attacker in the past took up arms and is in the territorial defense of Odessa. A photo from the trench with a weapon in his hands was published on Belanov's Facebook page.
61-year-old Igor Belanov won the 1986 Golden Ball. the best football player in Europe. He is one of three Soviet footballers to receive the award. The owners of the “Golden Ball” from the USSR were also Lev Yashin (1963) and Oleg Blokhin (1975).
