Ukrainians continue to fight for entry to the tournament
The men's Ukraine national basketball team guaranteed themselves a place in the second round of qualification for the 2023 World Cup, reports Tribuna.com.
This became possible after yesterday's victory of Ukraine over Georgia and the defeat of North Macedonia from Spain.
After the group stage, the three strongest national teams from each group will continue the fight for tickets to the World Cup. The Ukrainians will no longer drop below the third place in their group.
In the future, four groups of six European teams will be formed – the three best national teams will go to the World Cup.
Ukraine will play its next match on July 4 at departure against North Macedonia. The qualification will be completed in February 2023.
The FIBA Basketball World Cup will be held in the Philippines, Japan and Indonesia from August 25 to September 10, 2023.
