The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine has initiated the addition of the existing emoji catalog on Apple, Android, Meta and Twitter platforms with Ukrainian symbols.

It is noted that smileys are currently used by 90% of Internet users as a means of communication. The whole world admires the dignity and dedication of Ukrainians in the fight against the Russian occupiers.

“Therefore, the emergence of Ukrainian emoji in the face of unprecedented global support will help further unite the international community around the invincibility of the Ukrainian people,” the ministry said.

The Ministry of Culture also noted that they had asked the Unicode consortium to add emoticons with Ukrainian symbols. In addition, a special petition has been created, which can strengthen the possibility of making an appropriate decision.
