23-year-old Makar scored 29 (8 + 21) points in 20 playoff games – this is the best result in the NHL playoffs among defenders in the XXI century.
At the same time, Kale Makar has Ukrainian roots – his paternal great-grandfather moved to Canada from Ukraine, and his grandparents continued to preserve the traditions of the Ukrainian family.
