Footballers and coaches of “Prykarpattia” from Ivano- Frankivsk joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the club's official website, 14 players and the coaching staff went to defend their homeland from Russia's military aggression.

It's like taking a football player into the army who can't do anything. It was a bit of a deterrent not to be a burden.
But when the military commissar explained to us that we would be gradually trained, given basics and shown how to keep weapons, fight and defend Ukraine, we made a decision and joined the Armed Forces. “We have already been introduced to the machine gun: we have been taught to disassemble, clean and shoot. Everything is gradual. We go to the guard, we are on duty,” said Prykarpattia midfielder Vasyl Tsyutsyura./p>
