Poland has included an anti-war survival simulator in its extracurricular school curriculum

The game is based on the siege of Sarajevo during the war in Yugoslavia.

The Ministry of Education and Science of Poland has included the game This War of Mine in the extracurricular reading program. This is the first case in the history of Polish education to include the game in the school curriculum, according to the department's Twitter page.

This war of mine was developed by the Polish studio 11 bit studios.

The Ministry of Education and Science of Poland noted that the inclusion of games in the educational process allows to transfer knowledge in an attractive way for students, developing soft skills and expanding the boundaries of imagination.

“The game confronts the player with the realities of civil wars, and then – following the example of a series of masterpieces of anti-war prose of the twentieth century – offers to deepen the humanistic understanding of the victims: defenseless civilians, including children,” – said the Polish ministry. >

The game is based on the events of the siege of Sarajevo, which lasted four years. Users play for civilians trying to survive a civil war. This War of Mine touches on many topics, its main task is to cause users to be rejected by the war.

The Polish authorities have announced their intention to include the game in the school curriculum in 2020.
