The age of the building is estimated at 7000 years.
Archaeologists discovered near Prague the remains of the Kam an age older than Stonehenge and the Egyptian pyramids. According to Live Science, the building is “the oldest evidence of the existence of architecture in Europe”.
The discovered complex was shaped like a medallion. It is likely that 7,000 years ago local residents could gather here, although the exact purpose of the complex is unknown. The diameter of the complex is about 55 meters, which is approximately equal to the height of the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

Scientists note that “it is still too early to talk about people “, who built it, but they probably belonged to the pottery culture that flourished between 4900 and 4400 BC.
The possible existence of the monument here became known as early as the 1980s during gas and pipeline construction. But during new excavations, the structure was discovered in its entirety for the first time.
So far, researchers have managed to find ceramic fragments, animal bones and stone tools. In the future, scientists intend to carry out radiocarbon dating, which will help to accurately date the structure and possibly connect it with a Neolithic settlement found nearby.
The representatives of the pottery culture are known for building other similar monuments in other regions of the Czech Republic Their settled farming villages, located at the intersection of modern Poland, eastern Germany, and northern Czechia, consisted of several long houses, large rectangular structures that could accommodate 20 to 30 people in each.
