World heavyweight champion WBO, WBA, IBF and IBO Alexander Usik was allowed to leave Ukraine in wartime and begin preparations for a rematch with Britain's Anthony Joshua.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine has agreed to release the champion outside the country to begin the training process, despite the martial law and the ban on travel for men of military age.

“Now Alexander Usik has left to train, he will have a fight for the title of world champion. It is very important for us that he wins and once again tells the whole world that he will always be against the war and he is for peace. This is very important for us.” – said the Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Vadim Gutzayt on a telethon.

Usik returned to Ukraine and joined the territorial defense after the start of Russia's military invasion.

We will remind, on September 25 last year Usik defeated Joshua by the unanimous decision of judges and took away from the Briton all his titles.
