A slight increase in radioactive cesium in the air was recorded in Kyiv. This was reported by the IAEA monitoring service.

“It is noted that a slight increase in the concentration of cesium in the air was found in Kiev and at two sites west of Chernobyl, but … they do not cause significant radiological problems,” the statement said.

The IAEA also reports that fires are continuing in the Chernobyl forests. Already extinguished 4 hearths. The rest of the Chernobyl fire brigade is trying to take control.
