Zelensky congratulated Georgia Maloney on her victory in the elections in Italy, in return she promised Ukraine support

Meloni's “Brothers of Italy” party will form the majority in the ruling coalition in the newly formed government.

At the recent parliamentary elections in Italy, the far-right party “Brothers of Italy”, led by 45-year-old Georgia Maloni, won. It is expected that in the near future she will become the new prime minister of the country, and this causes certain concerns among both domestic and European politicians, who believe that Rome will stop supporting Kyiv in the war against Russia. Volodymyr Zelenskyicongratulated Meloni on his election victory and expressed hope for cooperation with the new Italian government.

“Congratulations to Georgia Maloney and her party for winning the election. We appreciate Italy's constant support of Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression. We count on fruitful cooperation with the new Italian government,” Zelenskyy wrote on Twitter.

In response, the head of the “Brothers of Italy” assured the Ukrainian president of further support from Rome .

“Dear Volodymyr Zelenskyi, you know that you can count on our faithful support in the cause of the freedom of the Ukrainian people. Stay strong and keep your faith!” Maloney said.

Previously in the USA stated that they are ready to cooperate with the new Italian government to support Ukraine in the confrontation with Russia.
