"You can't take a neutral position": Rebrov shared his opinion about Timoshchuk's betrayal

Al-Ain head coach Sergei Rebrov shared his opinion about the coach of Russian “Zenith” Anatoly Timoshchuk.

“Unfortunately, there is a category of people who understand that they will not return to Ukraine, and no one needs them in Europe. Some of them may have a position, but they do not voice it and sit in silence. This applies not only to athletes, but also to show business people born in Ukraine…

I am sure that Tolya is worried somewhere inside, but he probably needs to feed his family – and this is more important for him than his civic position. This is his life. It is only during the war that one cannot take a neutral position. I'll sit, say, for a couple of weeks, wait to see who will have the advantage, and then express my opinion. No. This will not happen, and I hope that our country will be cleansed of such people, “Rebrov said.

We will remind, 42-year-old Anatoly Timoshchuk is the record holder of the national team of Ukraine – on his account 144 matches and 4 goals. He has been working for Zenit since 2017. After the start of the war, the ex-footballer did not leave the St. Petersburg club and did not support Ukraine in the fight against the occupier.
