Vuchich compared the battle for Kherson to Stalingrad and said that it would create “additional problems”

In the ninth month of the war, the Serbian president declared the “importance of maintaining peace” and once again demonstrated his commitment to the Russian government.

Ukrainian troops are gradually approaching Kherson, the liberation of which from a strategic point of view could become one of the most important events of the war. While the majority of European countries unconditionally support Ukraine, there are several states on the continent that continue to be loyal to Russia, even despite all the crimes of the occupying army. One of them is Serbia, whose president Aleksandar Vucic compared the upcoming battle for Kherson to the Battle of Stalingrad in World War II and said it would create “additional problems for everyone.” The politician is quoted by the Serbian publication Pink.

According to Vuchich, the battles in the Kherson region will be decisive in Russia's war against Ukraine. Hinting that it is better for Kyiv to leave the occupied territories to the aggressor country, the Serbian president at the same time emphasized the “importance of preserving peace”.

“Trouble is ahead of us, the next winter will be even more difficult than this one, because the battle of Stalingrad awaits us – the decisive battle in the war in Ukraine, the battle for Kherson, in which both sides use thousands of tanks, aircraft, and artillery. The West thinks that in this way it will be able to destroy Russia, Russia believes that in this way it will be able to protect what it took at the beginning of the war and end it. This will lead to additional tension and problems everywhere, so it is important to keep the peace. I would not like to take any hasty steps,” said Vucic.
