Ukrainian women won the European youth beach volleyball championship

In the decisive match, Ukrainian volleyball players defeated representatives of Latvia.

Ukrainians Angelina Khmil and Tetyana Lazarenko won gold medals of the U-20 European Youth Beach Volleyball Championship.

The tournament was held in Izmir, Turkey.

Khmil and Lazarenko in the group defeated Lithuania (2:0), Norway (2:0) and Hungary (2:1). In the playoffs, the Ukrainian volleyball players defeated the Swiss, Spanish and Estonian women with a score of 2:0.

Daniela Konstantinova and Liva Ebere from Latvia faced the Ukrainian women in the final. Khmil and Lazarenko again managed to win by the results of two sets – 21:13, 21:17.

For the first time in history, Ukrainian women won the gold of the European Championship in this weight category. Earlier this year, the duet of Khmyl and Lazarenko won bronze at the European Championships in the U-22 age category.

Recall that last December, Angelina Khmyl and Tetyana Lazarenko won gold at the World Youth Beach Volleyball Championship.
