Ukrainian judoka Yadov won the European Championship

Ukrainian won European Championship gold in men's judo for the first time since 2019.

Ukrainian judoka Bohdan Yadov won a gold medal in weightlifting categories up to 66 kg at the European Championships.

In the final of the tournament, which takes place in Sofia, Bulgaria, in the weight category up to 66 kg Yadov defeated the Spaniard Alberto Gaitero Martin. The Ukrainian won the ippon.

This is the first medal of the European Championships for Yadov and the first award for the national team of Ukraine in the tournament.

Bohdan Yadov became the sixth European champion in judo in the history of Ukraine. Last time the men's gold medal for Ukraine was won by Georgy Zantaraya in 2019.
