Ukraine took 76th place in the ranking of the rule of law

Deterioration of results in the rating is noted for the fifth year in a row.

In the international ranking of the rule of law Rule of Law Index 2022 Ukraine took the 76th (0.50) position among 140 countries.

With the same indicator as Ukraine, there are 6 more countries on the list — India, Thailand, Sri Lanka.

Ukraine received the best indicator for “order and security”, the worst – for “absence of corruption”.

“The rule of law is the foundation for development in the post-war period,” commented jurist Gunduz Mammadov on Twitter.

In general, the deterioration of indicators is noted in the list for the fifth year in a row. Russia (0.45) took 107th place in the list. Belarus is in the 99th position (0.46).

Denmark, Norway, Finland, Sweden and the Netherlands entered the top five. Germany was in sixth place.

According to the executive director of the World Justice Project Elizabeth Andersen, today 4.4 billion people live in countries where the situation has
recently worsened. “A less fair world will inevitably be more unstable,” the expert stated.

It should be noted that in 2019 Ukraine ranked 77th among 126 countries.
