Ukraine submitted the dossier of the Odessa center for inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List

The dossier was handed over by the mayor of Odessa.

Nomination dossier “Historical center of the port city of Odesa” was submitted for inclusion in the UNESCO world heritage list, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Emine Japarova reported on Twitter.

“Today, the nomination file “Historical center of the port city of Odesa” was officially submitted for consideration by UNESCO for inclusion in the World Heritage List. We appreciate everyone's efforts aimed at making the center of Odesa a world cultural heritage and protecting it from Russian terrorists,” Dzaparova wrote.

As reported on the website of the Odessa City Council, the issue of Odesa's inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List should be considered at the next session of the Committee.

The dossier was handed over by the Mayor of Odesa, Gennady Trukhanov, at a meeting with the Deputy Director General of UNESCO for Culture Ernesto Ottone, the Director of the UNESCO World Heritage Center Lazar Elundu Assomo, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine to France Vadym Omelchenko.

The occupier hit the center of the capital, explosions also rang out in Khmelnytskyi, Zhytomyr, Dnipropetrovsk, Lviv, Poltava and other regions. In Odesa, air defense forces shot down three missiles and five kamikaze drones.

Trukhanov called on UNESCO to include the center of Odesa in the World Heritage List in the summer. Then as a result of another attack by the occupiers, the Vorontsov Palace was damaged.
