Small and medium business of Ukraine suffered direct losses in amounting to 64-85 billion dollars during the six weeks of full-scale war between Russia and our country. This is stated in a study by Advanter Group.

On average, businesses expect sales to decline in 2022 by 46% compared to last year.

It is also noted that small and medium-sized businesses need $ 54 billion in funding: 87% of businesses need it. Finding financing is a priority among 32% of companies.

According to the data received, 49% of companies completely or almost completely stopped working on February 24. At the same time, 6.2% were able to increase the volume of work over the past two months.

It is also known that 71% of businesses have not moved their facilities to other regions and are not going to do so. About 20% of enterprises relocated only or mainly within Ukraine, and 4.4% – exclusively or mainly abroad. In particular, more than half of IT companies have moved.

Another 4.7% of companies are planning to relocate, but are still choosing a destination. For example, about 15% of automotive repair and engineering companies want to relocate and almost 10% of light industry.

In addition, in May 2022, the business activity index, which reflects the ability of companies to increase turnover and create jobs , fell to its lowest level since December 2020: 33.82 points out of 100 possible. The microbusiness has the worst expectations, and the best – enterprises with an annual turnover of 50-500 million hryvnias.

The study also addressed the main reasons that hinder business from recovering and developing. 64% of respondents believe that there is a lack of sufficient solvent customers in the domestic market, 51% – unpredictability of the situation in Ukraine and the domestic market, 29% – lack of sufficient capital, 25% – the destruction of supply chains.
