Ukraine exported the first million tons of grain — Zelenskyi

The President summed up the results of the month of action of the grain export initiative.

During the operation of the so-called ” export grain initiative” from three Ukrainian ports — Chornomorsk, Odesa and Yuzhnoye — exported the first million tons of grain since February 24. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi announced this during the traditional evening address.

“Ukrainian grain and the very fact that our direction of supply to the world food market has worked, make it possible to avoid chaos on the market, reduce the severity of the food crisis, prevent a catastrophic shortage,” he emphasized, adding that in this way, a lot countries and peoples were saved from the food crisis, which Russia wanted to exacerbate into a real famine, and Ukraine remains one of the guarantors of world food security.

Today there are already 44 ships from Ukrainian agricultural products are sent to 15 countries of the world. We still have 70 applications for the arrival of ships for loading.

“The goal is to reach a monthly volume of 3 million tons of export by sea. This is extremely important for Africa, Asia and Europe,” Zelenskyi said.

Vid explained that this export not only supports Ukraine's international subjectivity, but also provides jobs for our citizens and income for Ukrainian companies. and the state budget and, what is very important, provides funds for sowing next year.

“This is a really important result for Ukraine, for the Black Sea region and the whole world. And I am grateful to everyone who contributed to this work. And I emphasize that it is the full responsibility of the partners to prevent any Russian provocations and disruption of exports,” Zelenskyy stressed.

On August 25, the Minister of Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov reported that 39 vessels left Ukrainian ports from more than 850 thousand tons of agricultural products.
