UEFA may change the format of the decisive stages of the Champions League – the media

Top clubs want to hold the last stages of the tournament in one week.

UEFA is considering changing the format of the semifinals and finals < Champions League , reports The Times.

The Association of European Clubs (ECA) and the Association of European Leagues want to see the decisive stages of the tournament in a separate show.

Plans include cancellation of the two-match format of the semifinals. One semifinal and a Champions League final will be held in one week in one city.

European top clubs support this option, but UEFA is in no hurry to make a final decision. It is expected that discussions on this issue will continue.

It should be noted that the semifinals of the Champions League are held in the format of two matches in each pair of teams from the first draw of the Champions Cup in 1955.
