Republicans may nominate a candidate for president from the party of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. This is evidenced by a poll conducted by Yougov two days after the elections for the US Congress, in which Democrats won the majority of seats.

Yes, the candidacy of DeSantis today is supported by 42% of Republicans and their supporters. At the same time, 35% are ready to support ex-president Donald Trump.

A month ago, polls showed the opposite position – 35% were ready to support DeSantis, and 45% said they preferred Trump. The survey was conducted on November 9-11, 2022 among 1,500 adult US citizens.

The former president of the USA, Republican Donald Trump called the results of the mid-term elections to the Congress “somewhat disappointing”.
