Грузовики, пытавшиеся вывезти из Украины имущество белорусских и российских компаний, будут национализированы

The Bureau of Economic Security (BEB) together with the Volyn Regional Civil-Military Administration found 7 trucks trying to take property of Belarusian and Russian companies out of Ukraine at one of the state border checkpoints. These trucks will be nationalized and sent to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, according to the Bureau of Economic Security.

“The discovered trucks were exporting trade and material valuables to the Republic of Belarus during martial law,” the BEB said.

BEB initiated the nationalization of these trucks for the needs of the APU.

“BEB and VOVA employees have taken the necessary measures and, by order of the head of the Volyn OVA, 3 trucks have already been handed over to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Currently, measures are being taken to seize the other 4 trucks and decide on further transfer to the military, “the statement said.

All these trucks also belong to companies from Belarus and Russia. The estimated total cost of the vehicles is about UAH 9 million.

“The Bureau of Economic Security continues to analyze the assets of economic entities of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus that have carried out or continue to carry out their activities in Ukraine,” the statement said.

It will be recalled that today only large assets belonging to the Russian Federation and businessmen close to the Kremlin are well known.

  • Thus, 99.99% of Kyivstar is owned by VEON, a controlling stake in which belongs to Russian oligarch Mikhail Friedman and his business partners.
  • The owner of Intertelecom was oligarch Viktor Gushan, who has Russian citizenship. He is also the owner of the largest Sheriff business group in the unrecognized Transnistrian Moldavian Republic (TMR), which is controlled by Russia. Gushan left Intertelecom's beneficiaries, but the Cypriot firm Odinaco Limited and its business partner Ilya Kazmala, who were listed at the time he was still a beneficiary, remained. So we can assume that this output was nominal.
  • Alfa-Bank – according to the National Bank of Ukraine, as of January 1, 2022, almost 90% of the shares belong to the aforementioned Russian oligarch Mikhail Friedman and his business partners: Russian citizens Herman Khan, Peter Aven, Alexei Kuzmichev.
  • International Reserve Bank – according to the NBU, 100% owned by “Sberbank of Russia”. The latter, in turn, is owned by more than 50% of the Russian Federation through the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, another 49.9% of the bank's shares are traded on the stock exchange.
  • According to the NBU, Prominvestbank is 99.77% owned by the Russian State Development Corporation WEB.RF, which in turn is 100% owned by the Russian Federation.

At the same time, Ukraine has decided to nationalize Russian assets . Permission to do so was given by the Verkhovna Rada. On March 3, people's deputies passed a law providing for the forcible seizure of property owned by the Russian Federation and its residents “in favor of the state of Ukraine.”

According to the text of the law, it “determines the legal basis for the forcible seizure of property rights (including cases where military necessity is required) of the Russian Federation, both the state that started a full-scale war against Ukraine and its residents.”

According to the law, they plan to confiscate movable and immovable property, funds, bank deposits, securities, corporate rights, other property (assets) located (registered) on the territory of Ukraine.

Who will be included in such a list for further confiscation will be determined by the Cabinet of Ministers. The final decision is made by the National Security and Defense Council and put into effect by presidential decree.

The Cabinet of Ministers estimates the total damage from the war at $ 1 trillion and the loss of GDP at 35%. This was announced by Prime Minister Denis Shmigal in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
