Tomorrow, Ukraine will raise the issue of the inclusion of the Russian Federation in the “black” list of the FATF as a country sponsoring terrorism

Consideration of the issue was preceded by many months of work by the State Financial Monitoring Service.

Ukraine will initiate at the FATF Plenary Session in Paris consideration of the issue of including the Russian Federation in the “black” list of countries sponsoring terrorism for flagrant violations of international standards, which are carried out daily by the aggressor country against peaceful Ukraine. The Autumn Plenary Meeting of the FATF, where the relevant initiative will be announced, will begin its work on October 18 in Paris and continue until October 21. Mr. Raja Kumar's FATF with a reasoned appeal to exclude the aggressor country from the FATF and include the Russian Federation in the “black” list,” the State Financial Monitoring Service said in a statement, whose delegation will participate in the FATF meeting on behalf of Ukraine.

In the same context, the State Financial Monitoring a corresponding appeal to the FATF has been prepared with a request to sanction the Russian Federation for the flagrant violations of international standards committed daily by the aggressor country against peaceful Ukraine.

“Everyone understands that the time for discussions is rapidly running out. The Russian Federation has challenged world security and all its guarantors, so the time has come to make a clear and adequate decision. In light of the latest terrible terrorist attacks committed by the Russian Federation in Ukraine, there is an urgent need for an appropriate and tough response by the relevant international institutions , which take care of issues of global security, including financial security,” the State Financial Monitoring Service emphasizes.

global measures taken by the FATF and its members in the field of combating money laundering, terrorist financing and the financing of the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

The participation of the State Financial Monitoring Service in these FATF measures is supported of the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative in Ukraine (EUACI) project.
