Today, the Council is going to take the first step to disrupt the NABU director competition

They want to approve the controversial draft law in the parliament already this week.

At the meeting of the Committee on State Power Organization in on Monday, September 5, representatives of the “Servant of the People” party will try to approve a draft law, the adoption of which will disrupt the competition for the position of the director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, as well as simplify the procedure for his dismissal.

About the plans to put draft law No. 7654 “On Amendments to Some Laws of Ukraine Regarding the Unification of Requirements to the Heads of Individual State Bodies” to a vote of the Parliament the day before, People's Deputy from the “Voice” faction, First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Anti-corruption Policy, Yaroslav Yurchyshyn, announced the day before.

< p>“Klochko will still try to hold a meeting of the Committee on the Organization of State Power on Monday, September 5 at 2:00 p.m. in order to realize Tatarov's/Yermak's perverse dreams and lay a mine under the competition for the post of NABU director. The draft agenda is attached,” he wrote in his Telegram.

He called on the committee members to remove this issue from consideration and to prevent it from entering the room at all, as it could cause a serious blow to Ukraine not only in terms of reputation.

“Don't become co-responsible for a failed competition. And as a result of the slowdown of European integration and, God forbid, another discussion about international aid, including weapons. What is more important to you – Tatarov/Yermak or the EU and weapons for the army?”, he noted.

In turn, the head of the Anti-Corruption Center Vitaly Shabunin noted that already this week Zelensky's faction is going to push this draft law through the Rada .

“What do you think will be the reaction of the Western allies to this hogwash? Maybe they will give even more money? Maybe on better terms? Whether Zelensky knows about it – decide for yourself. We know for sure that Yermak is personally managing this story,” he added and noted that currently 60% of Ukraine's budget is financed by Western partners' funds.

Let us remind you that in August, a member of the “Servant of the People” presidential faction Andrii Klochko registered a draft law in the parliament that establishes new requirements for candidateson the director of NABU and restrictions on participation in the competition.

“This means that the competition will have to be canceled and started from scratch immediately after the adoption of the draft law, because the requirements for its participants are changing,” Vitaly Shabunin noted at the time.
