The Congress of the International Football Federation (FIFA) did not consider excluding Russia from the organization .

A meeting of the 72nd Congress was held in Doha, Qatar, where, according to a number of sources, the issue of excluding Russia from the organization or suspending it will be on the agenda.

As a result, this issue was not considered at all. Participants voted to remove the national federations of Pakistan, Zimbabwe and Kenya.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino commented on the situation:

“Excluding the Russian Football Union from FIFA is not an option. If we do not bring people together at our congresses, it is better for us to stop working and go home. I can only urge leaders to dialogue and de-escalate the conflict.”

At the same time, the FIFA Congress included the Russian language in the list of official ones in the organization.

It is worth noting that earlier FIFA and UEFA removed Russian clubs and national teams from all competitions under their auspices. The Russian national team was excluded from the playoffs in the selection for the 2022 World Cup.
