“There will be other ways to help communities and cities. Without you”: the conflict between OP and the mayor of Chernihiv is growing

Atroshenko was reprimanded in the President's Office for not dealing with the city's problems

The conflict between the Office of the President and Chernihiv Mayor Vladyslav Atroshenko is gaining new momentum. After Atroshenko was indignant that the authorities did not release him twice, he was not released abroad for important negotiations to help the city, which suffered from the occupiers, the OP stated that he does not do that and the city will do without him. Such a statement was posted on his Telegram channel on July 2 by the deputy head of the OP Kyrylo Tymoshenko.

“The mayors of some cities are outraged that they are not allowed to go abroad,” wrote Kyrylo Tymoshenko. “First of all, I remind those who have forgotten that there is a war in Ukraine! This especially applies to the border regions and those that were recently occupied. Danger has not passed! Take care of communities so that people will finally see you, and you are their problems. For those for whom the signal is not clear, there will be other ways to help communities and cities. Without you.”

Let us remind you that the representative of the opposition party “UDAR”, the mayor of Chernihiv, who suffered greatly from the attacks of the Russian occupiers in March, was not allowed by the authorities to go abroad twice – first to the World Economic Forum in Davos, then – to the Polish city of Rzeszów, where he was going to sign the partnership agreement between the cities. After that, Atroshenko was indignant that the authorities were engaged in “political games”, saying that during these trips he planned to attract international aid for the reconstruction of Chernihiv.

We remind you that you can read about the problems of restoring Ukrainian cities destroyed by Russian troops in Anatoly Tkachuk's article and Yurii Tretyak “Restoration of Ukraine. Regional aspect”.
