The United States will not send Ukraine missile systems that can reach Russia – Biden

It may have been HIMARS systems.

The United States will not send missile systems to Ukraine can reach Russia, President Joe Biden said on Monday.

According to Reuters, the comment came after reports that the Biden administration was preparing to send advanced long-range jet systems to Kyiv.

as part of a larger package of military aid to Ukraine with a range of up to 300 kilometers. However, Biden did not specify which system he meant.

ZN.UA comment:

Earlier it was reported that the American decision to supply us with MLRS (this is the English abbreviation for MLRS – multiple rocket launchers; Multi-Launch Rocket Systems). That is, it was a class of weapons systems, not their specific type/brand. And specific types differ in ammunition with different distances: from 50-70 km (like our Smersh and Hurricane) to 270-300 km, which neither we nor in Russia and which are really very powerful, in terms of range and contactlessness. So Biden's statement can probably be interpreted as America's unwillingness to supply us with long-range MLRS/MLRS types. Apparently, the United States is afraid of entering into a direct military conflict with Russia because of the possible use of their missiles in Ukraine to hit objects in Russia.
