The UN found a way to help Ukraine with grain storage

The UN will purchase grain storage equipment in Ukraine.

UN Structure – Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations of the United Nations (FAO) – will soon announce a tender for the purchase of grain storage equipment in Ukraine. This equipment will be available to farmers from 20 regions of Ukraine, FAO representative Viktoriya Mikhalchuk said, Ukrinform reports. span>

According to Mikhalchuk, as a result of Russian aggression, 14% of Ukrainian granaries have been damaged or destroyed, 10% are located on territories captured by Russia. Of the available warehouses, 35% are filled with grain and oil crops from last year's harvest, which are waiting for export.

“In a few days, FAO will announce a tender for the purchase of the necessary equipment – sleeves for grain storage, loader-unloaders, as well as modular grain warehouses.” , – Mikhalchuk said.

The terms of participation in the project will be announced soon.

The cost of the FAO project, aimed at helping Ukrainian farmers to preserve the harvest expected in July-August and to ensure the export of the most important agricultural products to international markets, is $17 million.

Earlier it was reported that in the ports of Odesa and “Chornomorsk” has already loaded 17 vessels, of which 10 are already ready for shipment.
