The Ukrainian Film Academy started cooperation with Netflix

Programs have been launched to support creators from Ukraine.

The Ukrainian Film Academy, Netflix and House of Europe announced about the beginning of cooperation, the purpose of which is creative support of creators from Ukraine. At the moment, two initiatives have been launched, which are designed to help creators from our country who suffered or were forced to move due to the war started by Russia, to continue their work, according to the website of the Academy.

The program of the Ukrainian Film Academy provides:

  • 48 grants for the development of scenarios of $15,000 each for teams of experienced of two film professionals (screenwriter and producer);
  • Exclusive online sessions with international industry experts.

The program led by House of Europe will provide:

  • 100 scholarships of €1,000 for authors of all levels;
  • Training in the film production process, post- production and pitching from Netflix for entry-level and mid-level professionals.

Specify it is stated that any Ukrainian creator can apply for participation in the programs, regardless of their location. With the support of leading international and Ukrainian institutions, creators will be able to develop their careers in the film and television industry.

Initiatives are supported by the Netflix Fund for Creative Equity, a global fund launched in early 2021 with the aim of creating great opportunities for people from underrepresented or marginalized communities to have their voices heard.
