Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz won the men's final singles of the US Open Championship.

In the final match, Alcaraz met the Norwegian Casper Ruud and won in four sets with the score 6:4, 2:6, 7:6 (1 ), 6:3.

19-year-old Alcaraz won the Grand Slam tournament for the first time in his career . For this victory, the Spaniard will receive 2.6 million dollars in prize money.

The Spaniard will deprive the Russian Danylo Medvedev of the status of the first racket of the world. The new US Open champion became the youngest number one in the world ranking in the history of men's tennis. He broke the record of Lleyton Hewitt, who became the number one at the age of 20.
