Uros Velepets will continue his career in Germany.

Head coach of the women's national team of Ukraine Biathlon Uroš Velepec has resigned, Public Sport reports.

The Slovenian specialist has signed a contract with the German Ski Federation and will become the assistant head coach of the men's national biathlon team in the new Olympic cycle./p>

The agreement is designed for the end of the 2026 Olympics in Milan. Velepets will start working on May 1.

Uros Velepets prepared the Ukrainian women's national team for the 2018 Olympics in Pyeongchang, after which he returned to the team as head coach in 2021. At the 2022 Olympics, the women's team finished in the top 20 five times.

The season was interrupted for the Ukrainians due to Russia's military invasion, so after the Games, the biathletes did not perform in tournaments. It is also worth noting that Velepets is Yulia Jima's personal trainer.
