The Security Service of Ukraine is preparing a report on suspected abuse under the authority of one of the former heads of the Dovzhenko Center, SBU spokesman Artem Dekhtyarenko told “Detector-Media”. He added that in this case, investigative actions are taking place in the premises of the center with the participation of SBU employees, the National Police and the Prosecutor's Office. 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (abuse of power or official position). The SBU promised to announce the details later.

“Media Detector” reports that the formal reason for the searches is the search for connections the former general director of the Center, Ivan Kozlenka, with a construction company working on the plot next to the Center.
The message that the premises of the Dovzhenko Center were being searched in the morning of November 10 appeared on its Facebook page.
On November 2, Derzhkino suspended Elena Honcharuk from performing the duties of the general director of the Dovzhenko Center according to the results of the audit. She remained in the position of head of the Dovzhenko Center Cinema Museum.
In addition, Derzhkino announced the appointment of a new acting director. general director of the Dovzhenko Center Yulia Khazhdan, and on November 5 announced a new competition for the position of general director of the Dovzhenko Center. Until then, the manager's duties will be performed by a “professional crisis manager who must eliminate the deficiencies identified during the inspection.”
Later, information appeared in the media that Khazhdan had never worked in the field of cinema and is a professional cynologist. Derzhkino, on the other hand, noted that it is about reorganization, not liquidation, and there is no question about the dismissal of the Center's employees either. In accordance with labor legislation, they will be offered similar positions in the new structure. People will be able to make their own decisions: to continue working or transfer to another organization.
