The Ministry of Finance reported on the state budget deficit situation

The budget deficit increased by another 20% in June.

In June, the situation with the state budget deficit of Ukraine did not improve . Thus, over the previous month, the deficit grew by almost 20% compared to May, to UAH 134.9 billion. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Finance.

According to the report, the revenues of the general fund decreased by 4% in May to UAH 96 billion, while expenditures jumped by 7% to UAH 232.4 billion.

In general, since the beginning of the year, the deficit of the general fund of the state budget amounts to UAH 406.1 billion.

Actual state borrowings to the general fund of the state budget during this period amounted to UAH 561.3 billion, or 133.5% of planned.

Of this amount, the placement of OVDP brought UAH 349.7 billion, including UAH 28.1 billion ($653.5 million and EUR 288.3 million) in foreign currency. UAH 327.6 billion was raised through the issuance of military OVDP bonds, in particular, UAH 225 billion was acquired by the National Bank of Ukraine.

UAH 211.6 billion was raised from external sources.

Payments from repayment of the state debt for January – June amounted to UAH 214.8 billion.

Tax revenues to the budget in June covered only 20% of expenditures. The first deputy chairman of the tax committee, Yaroslav Zheleznyak, believes that this is not only a feature of June as a tax period. According to him, businesses no longer have the physical ability to pay taxes in advance and there are signs of blocking exports.
