The Ministry of Agrarian Policy explained how the law on food security will work

The law came into force on April 7.

Law on creating conditions for food security in martial law, which aims to quickly involve agricultural land in agricultural production, entered into force on April 7. This was reported by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.

It is noted that the law is based on the priority of public (state) interests in the interests of individuals in wartime. This means that the law suspends some legal mechanisms that protect private interests.

The law introduces simplified legal mechanisms that provide:

  • Automatic renewal for 1 year of contracts of use agricultural land plots of all forms of ownership;
  • Simplified procedure for lease for commodity agricultural production; state-owned and communally-owned agricultural land by the authorities;
  • Simplified procedure for lease for commodity agricultural production of state-owned and communally-owned agricultural land by their permanent land users and emphyteutists;
  • tenants and subtenants of lease and sublease rights of agricultural land plots of all forms of ownership for agriculture;
  • Procedure for state registration of land agreements;
  • Signing of agreements with qualified electronic signatures.
