The Kremlin has called Russian grain a “quiet but formidable weapon” and intends to reduce exports

Russia will review restrictions on imports and exports.

В Кремле назвали российское зерна «тихим, но грозным оружием» и намерены сократить экспорт

Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev proposed to expand the list of products banned from import into Russia and export from the country. He said that Russian grain, which is exported, is a “formidable weapon” against enemies. He wrote about this on social networks.

According to him, Russia will supply food and crops only to friendly countries, both in rubles and in national currency. However, the priority will be the domestic market.

“We will not supply our products and agricultural products to our enemies. And we will not buy anything from them,” he said.

Medvedev reminded that food is a quiet but formidable weapon for Russia, and exports of Russian agricultural products exceed exports of weapons. He stressed that Russia remains one of the world leaders in grain production, and in recent years has become the largest exporter of wheat. According to him, the food security of many countries depends on Russian supplies.

“It turns out that our food is our quiet weapon. Quiet – but formidable,” he added.

The authorities will control food prices in the country and will continue large-scale systemic assistance to farmers, Medvedev added.

“We will eat breakfast ourselves. We may share lunch with friends. And we will not give dinner to the enemies. It will cost,” insists the deputy chairman of the Security Council.
